Saucony Elite 50 Team Boys | Week 8

*Editor's Note: The Saucony Elite 50 refers to the top-50 teams in the country (25 boys and 25 girls).

Well, another great weekend of State Championship action is in the books and what a weekend it was.

Starting with a big regional race, #12 New Trier (IL) killed it and won over powerhouse #9 York (IL) as both teams will head to state and square off once again there.  Additionally, #8 Madera South (CA) vanquished #3 Arcadia (CA) in their county meet to establish themselves as one of the best in the country.  

In state championship action #6 Brentwood (TN) rolled over the competition with 3 in the top-6 overall to win the title and continue to show their resolve and strength all season long.  #10 West Chester Henderson (PA) moved up the rankings after running a superb race to win their second straight title and they won big over some great squads.  #18 North Allegheny was 2nd and just behind them was #21 Cardinal O'Hara.  #16 Central Catholic (OR) dominated their state championships in OR and moved up a few places as a result.  #20 Carmel (IN) won the state title over watchlister Columbus North, who put up quite the fight.  #14 St. Xavier (OH) also won their state title with ease.  #22 Wayzata (MN) had a showdown with watchlister Edina and prevailed to win the title.  

In other sectional action #5 Fayetteville-Manlius (NY) advanced to states and continues to keep the upper hand against #11 Liverpool.    

As the season rolls along we will surely see other teams rise up in a bid to become one of the nation's best.
