Do you have what it takes to become a MileSplit All-American?

<p> <span style="font-size: 14px;">The first ever MileSplit All-American Teams for this past 2014 outdoor track &amp; field season are being released this week. The selection process included taking into consideration multiple factors but not limited to: season best performances and national rankings, consistency and body of work, finishes in major championship and post-season meets as well as a head-to-head results against other top national ranked competition in their event were all used to determine the top 8 individuals and relays to make up our All-American squads.</span></p>

MileSplit is excited to introduce the "MileSplit All-Americans" to high school track & field and cross country! Starting this outdoor track & field season we will be producing the nation's High School All-American teams and will continue each season moving forward for outdoor, cross country, and indoor track! This week, we will be releasing our first "MileSplit All-American Watch List" which will include our current top 10 ranked individuals and top 5 ranked relays in the most commonly contested outdoor track & field events.

Following that initial release, an updated MileSplit All-American Watch Lists will be posted at the beginning of the month in May and June. Our final All-American teams  for the 2014 outdoor season with be announced in early July featuring the top 8 individuals in each event and top 4 relays. 
 

 
Multiple factors will go into the consideration process for the ranking and selecting of athletes and relays for the All-American watch list and the final All-American team decided in early July: 
 
  • Times and performances
  • National rankings
  • Performance in major meets including championship season & post-season
  • Head to head against nationally ranked competition
  • Consistency and recent hot streaks of strong times and marks
 
The events up for All-American consideration during the outdoor season include the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter/mile run, 3200 meter/two mile run, 100/110 meter hurdles, 300/400 meter hurdles, 4x100 meter relay, 4x400 meter relay, 4x800 meter relay, pole vault, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw.
 
MileSplit will recognize the best of the best regardless of which national meets they attended or if they decided to have their successful seasons wrap up at their state championships. No more will there be a doubt who is the nation's best runners, jumpers. vaulters and throwers. Today's Milesplit All-Americans are tomorrow's Olympians.
