Deserta Vista (AZ)
One of the fastest teams on paper in the country based on PR's and track times, the Desert Vista girls are looking to get over the hump against some of the traditional NXN Southwest Regional powers and prove the fast times over the spring match up against the nation's best in the fall as well. Led by 4:43 miler Dani Jones, Desert Vista girls have a top 5 back who average together 18:13 for 5K personal bests including nearly 4 sub 11 minute performers in the 3200 from the spring. After getting over the hump against in-state rival Xavier College Prep last year for the Arizona state title, it is time for Desert Vista (4th in 2013 NXN Southwest) to get over the next hurdle in qualifying for the Nike Cross Nationals in a ultra competitive Southwest region. Having two talented siblings in the Jones sisters Dani and Baylee should help in those efforts.
