UW-Madison Red & White Open Results
Madison, Wis. - Four members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team won events Friday night at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Red & White Open at the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center. No team scores were reported. The Eagles'
Isaac Vazquez (long jump),
John Cooper (weight throw),
Clark Lundquist (triple jump) and
Jamie Bottcher (400-meter dash) all earned first-place finishes.
Vazquez took the long jump at 22-9 while Cooper won the weight throw at 60-6 1/2. Lundquist won the triple jump with a mark of 42-4 and Bottcher captured the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.83.
Other top five-finishes for UW-L in the field events included
Nick Stone placing second (6-4 1/2) and
Travis Gallick third (6-1 1/4) in the high jump while
Andy Novak was second (60-8),
Alex Zart third (53-0 1/4) and
Adam Poellinger fifth (50-11) in the shot put.
Christopher Haase finished third in the long jump (22-7) while
Tyler Zamzow was third in the triple jump (38-0 1/4) and
Jeremiah Burish third in the pole vault (15-11). The Eagles'
Ross Von Glahn finished fifth in the weight throw (53-2 1/4).
On the track,
Troy Brooks was third in the 60-meter dash (7.12) while Lundquist was third in the 200-meter dash (23.25).
Bruce Schmitz finished third in the mile run (4:22.30) and
Andy Grossman was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.67).
UW-L returns to action Saturday, February 18 at the UW-Stevens Point Eastbay Open at 10 a.m.
