Wartburg College (Iowa) Select Meet Results
Waverly, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team placed second at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Select Saturday afternoon. The Eagles finished with 177.5 team points while Wartburg (Iowa) was first with 261.0. The University of St. Thomas, Minn. was third (105.5) and UW-River Falls fourth (65.5) followed by UW-Platteville (60.0), Central College, Iowa (31.0) and Simpson College, Iowa (8.0).
UW-L's
Rachel Schroeder,
Hannah Mueller,
Nicole Flackey and
Kayla Ashland took individual event finals Saturday. Schroeder captured the 5,000-meter run (18:31.69) while Mueller won the triple jump (11.10 meters) and Flackey the weight throw (15.99). Mueller was also third in the long jump (5.16).
Ashland tied for first in the high jump (1.65).
The Eagles' also won the 4x200-meter relay (1:43.50) with
Jamie Ludwigson,
Jenna Halvorson, Mueller and
Claire Elliot. UW-L's 4x400-meter relay (3:52.56) placed second with
Caitlin Wippermann, Halvorson, Elliott and
Rebecca Scheuermann.
Wippermann was also third in the 200-meter dash (25.95) Saturday.
Other top finishes included
Rebecca Schmidt second in the long jump (5.19 meters) and third in the 60-meter dash (7.88) while
Kristin Lillie was second in the 600-meter dash (1:42.04).
Corissa Conard was second (18:35.68) and
Amanda Gresl third (19:08.08) in the 5,000-meter run.
In the pole vault,
Erika Whitson finished second (3.16) and
Leanne Summer Tietz and
Christy Moses tied for third (3.01).
UW-L returns to action Friday, February 10 at the St. Mary's University (Minn.) Open and at the UW-Whitewater Invitational.
