Pointer Qualifier Results
Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team competed at the Pointer Qualifier Saturday at UW-Stevens Point. No team scores were recorded. The Eagles'
Claire Elliott captured the 400-meter dash (57.46) while UW-L's 4x400-meter relay of
Caitlin Wippermann,
Jenna Halvorson,
Shannon Klein and
Rebecca Scheuermann also finished first (3:53.58).
Other top finishers on the track included
Rebecca Schmidt placing fourth (7.85) and Wippermann fifth (7.86) in the 60-meter dash.
In the field events,
Kayla Ashland finished second in the high jump (5-6) while
Megan Marfilius tied for fifth (5-2 1/4) and
Amy Jo Garinger tied for ninth (5-0 1/4).
Bailey Sauerwein recorded a fourth-place finish (40-7 1/2) in the shot put while
Jessica Ramel was 16th (35-7 1/4). Ramel also placed ninth (48-11 1/2) in the weight throw with
Nicole Flackey finishing fifth (54-1 1/4).
Schmidt was fifth (16-10 3/4) and
Bailey Alston eighth (15-11 3/4) in the long jump. Alston also finished 10th in the triple jump (33-2).
Erika Whitson tied for 10th in the pole vault (10-7).
UW-L returns to action Friday, March 9 at the NCAA III Championships in Grinnell, Iowa.
