Winona State "Last Minute" Invitational Results
Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team opened its 2012 outdoor sason at the Winona State University "Last Minute" Invitational Friday night at Paul Giel Field. No team scores were recorded, but three individuals won titles for the Eagles. On the track,
Alison Richman won the 800-meter dash (2:25.85) while
Rachel Schroeder took the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:37.02). UW-L's
Amy Jo Garinger won the high jump (5-1).
Other top finishes on the track included:
Caitlin Wippermann second (26.03) and
Jamie Ludwigson fifth (26.75) in the 200-meter dash while
Rena Kneeland was third (59.73) and
Macy Olson fifth (1:03.25) in the 400-meter dash.
Marissa Klimmek placed second (2:27.73) and
Laura Mead third (2:30.25) in the 800-meter run while
Kristin Lillie was second (5:01.59) and
Kelly Olson third (5:10.57) in the 1,500-meter run.
UW-L's
Jamie Ludwigson finished second (16.59),
Jena Weigel fourth (16.82) and
Alyssa Arentz fifth (17.18) in the 100-meter hurdles.
Corissa Conard was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:37.02).
The Eagles' 4x200-meter relay of
Kaitlyn Francour,
Alyssa Arentz,
Jaclyn Ditter and
Jena Weigel placed third (1:50.87).
In the field events,
Summer Tietz and
Erika Whitson tied for second (10-8) in the pole vault while
Maddison Norlin tied for fourth (10-2).
The Eagles'
Bailey Sauerwein was fourth in the shot put (41-0 1/2) while
Nicole Flackey was fourth in the hammer throw (152-2) and
Amanda Bridleman finished fifth in the javelin throw (95-7).
UW-L returns to action Friday, April 6 at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Heptathlon at 3 p.m.
