Wartburg College (Iowa) Select Results
Waverly, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team placed second at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Select Friday night. The Eagles finished with 137.0 points while Wartburg was first with 289.70. UW-Eau Claire placed third with 132.2 followed by St. Olaf College (Minn.) in fourth with 70.2 and Augustana College (Ill.) in fifth with 64.0. A total of nine teams competed.
UW-L's 4x400-meter relay of
Caitlin Wippermann,
Jenna Halvorson,
Rebecca Scheuermann and
Claire Elliott placed first Friday (3:55.54).
The Eagles' 4x100-meter relay of
Jaime Ludwigson, Halvorson, Wippermann and Elliott were second (48.73).
Individually, Wippermann was second in the 100-meter dash (12.46) while Scheuermann was second in the 800-meter run (2:16.20). Elliott was third in the 400-meter dash (57.34) with
Marissa Mahr placing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.05) and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.96). UW-L's
Crystal Oravis finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.55).
Rachel Schroeder finished third in the 5,000-meter run (18:26.40) and
Karyn Genrich placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:12.35).
In the field events,
Kayla Ashland tied for second in the high jump (1.61 meters) while
Summer Tietz was second in the pole vault (3.10);
Bailey Alston second in the long jump (5.27) and
Nicole Flackey second in the hammer throw (48.41).
Maddison Norlin tied for third in the pole vault (2.95 meters) Friday while
Amy Jo Garinger tied for fourth in the high jump (1.56) and was fifth in the long jump (4.94). UW-L's
Bailey Sauerwein was fifth in the shot put (11.87).
