Taylor Ewert and Beavercreek's Girls Grab Ohio State Title

The Ohio High School Athletic Association Cross Country Championships may have been delayed a week due to rain, but that didn't seem to stop anyone on Saturday.

A week following the impromptu rescheduling, Ohio's best travelled to Hebron, Ohio, posted up at the National Trail Raceway, and then showed out in full force.

Check out how all the big names in the state ran below.

D1 Girls

1. Taylor Ewert and the Beavercreek girls have been on a roll this year and the state championships were no exception.

Ewert led the Beaver's up front, taking the individual title by over 30 seconds in 17:38.70. On the team side, the Creek girls scored 118 points with a 2:47 spread and a 19:03 team average. The ladies from Centerville were second with 141 points.

Interestingly enough, though, it was a 2-point difference between second place Centerville and third place Granvillewhich scored 143 points.

D1 Boys

2. This was another chance for Ohio to get one last glimpse of Conant Smith.

Last year, the Middletown senior and Arizona State commit was the runner-up to  Lakota East's Dustin Horter by less than a second.

But Horter wasn't around this time, and Smith would not be denied the title.

The senior ran 15:43.40 for the fastest time of the day.

Placing second behind Smith was Twinsburg's Ryan Adkins, who posted a 15:46.10, and Amherst Steele's Josh Hill, who rounded out the top three in 15:47.50.

Just outside the top three was Howland's Vincent Mauri, who had an outstanding time at his region meet (14:54.80), which also proved to be a state No. 1.

The Division I team title was won by Hudson. The team scored 107 points, had a 38-second compression and ran to a 16:42 average.
