On The Line: Headlining Tamari Davis Ties National Record

In this clip from our most recent On The Line Episode, the gang discusses Tamari Davis' newly-minted national high school record in the 60m. The East Ridge (FL) High School junior tied the former record of 7.19 held by Ashley Owens, which was accomplished at altitude in 2004.

Davis surprised a few people when she tied the mark, running 7.19 seconds at the Gamecock Opener in Columbia, South Carolina. But why? Davis, who owns freshman national class records in the 55m, 60m and 200m and another sophomore class mark in the 60m, was certainly talented enough.Maybe, then, it wasn't a matter of whether she could, but a matter of when.

Davis continues her indoor season in February in the 60m, then will run at the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships in February in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
