After an extended break from races, teams got back on the course to compete this weekend. Check out some highlights from this weekend's coverage!
Runners were in for a hot afternoon of racing at the grade level challenge. Brookfield Central had two first place finishes in the senior races - Nathan Hirsch (17:40.9) and Julia Neustedter (21:16.3). Sophomore Noelle Junig of Muskego ran the fastest 4K of the meet in 15:15.
PT Timing Invitational
Top ranked teams battled it out in the heat Friday evening. Brookfield East came out on top for the boys, with three runners in the top five places. Joel Wolf of Mukwonago had the top individual performance, with a time of 15:56.80. On the girls' side, freshman Anne Straka led Arrowhead to a team win. Straka ran a time of 20:55.20, narrowly beating out Mukwonago's Eva Koos for the win.
West Bend West/East Scrimmage
In the "across-the-hall" scrimmage, teams ran from a socially distanced start. Both teams were initially scheduled to run that same course in the Jamie Block CC Invite (now postponed to September 12th). West Bend East's Tommy Conklin took first in 17:37, followed by West's Ben Bast who finished in 18:01.
Shorewood CC Scrimmage
The hot, humid conditions carried over into Saturday and stayed for the day-long event. A series of three-team races were held throughout the day, spaced so that each race group could warm up, race, and leave before the next arrived. Results were compiled at the end of the day.
Homestead's Owen Bosley took the lead in the boys' race, running 16:48.66. On the girls' side, Homestead senior Leanne Willemse came in first with a time of 18:47.60. Shorewood led team performances for both the boys and the girls.
Other Notable Performances:
- Max Blader hit a PR of 15:57 at the Chippewa Falls Invitational, leading New Richmond to a win.
- Joshua Truchon of West Allis Hale ran a 12:32 4K at the Tosa East Scrimmage.
- Badger swept the first nine places at the Boys Badger Invite
