From invitationals to conference championships, check out the highlights from this weekend's meet coverage and more!
Jaron Gage (1st, 19:18.10) and Cullen Krasselt (2nd, 19:37.20) led Marathon to a team win. On the girls side, Morgan Schnelle of Edgar ran 21:28.90 for a first place finish. Assumption High School had the team win, with top runner Cristin Casey finishing in second.
Joe Sullivan of Medford Area added another win to his 2020 season, finishing in 17:15.40. Callahan Laggis and Sam Gremban followed in second and third, running times of 17:27.70 and 17:32.70 respectively. Medford Area took the team win with 39 points.
Cael Grotenhuis earned the NSC individual title in a time of 16:33.6. Homestead, led by Owen Bosley (2nd, 16:53.7), edged out Whitefish Bay to win the team championship by one point. On the girls' side, Leane Willemse was the individual NSC champ, finishing in 18:48.1. Whitefish Bay pulled ahead to win the team title, and was led by second place finisher Lily Kriegel (19:23.2).
Patrick Wills ran a PR of 15:33.77 to win the Classic 8 Championship for the boys. Runner-up Joel Wolf was the only other competitor to go under 16 minutes, finishing in a time of 15:52.58. Oconomowoc earned the team title with Phillip Houston (16:23.54), Zachariah Vance (16:25.45) and Hayden Triebold (16:30.89) finishing in the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions.
Oconomowoc senior Kylie Finger won the girls title in 18:48.70. Rachel Helm (18:47.39) of Muskego followed in second, leading Muskego to a team win. Noelle Junig, Kate Sperka, Sara Jochims, and Bella Beeck made up the remaining scoring runners for Muskego, all finishing in the top 20.
Other Notable Performances
- Joshua Truchon ran a PR of 15:13.40 to win the GMC Championships. The time solidifies his second place position in the Wisconsin rankings.
- Shorewood boys and girls took home team championships at the Woodland East Conference Championship, as well as a pair of individual wins in Nathan Cumberbatch (17:15.28) and Bella Lozier (19:09.94).
