PEORIA, Ill. - The men's and women's cross country
teams wrapped up their regular season competition Friday after competing in the
sixth annual Bradley Classic at Newman Golf Course.
On the men's side Joshua Clark (Gillett, Wis.) led the way for
the Phoenix finishing with a time of 27:31. Meanwhile Erik Blomsness (Winona,
Minn.) finished in 27:47 followed by Paul Malcore (Green Bay, Wis.) in 27:53,
Brad Endres (Plymouth, Wis.) in 28:06 and Evan Wachter (Plymouth, Wis.) rounded
out the top five finishing the 8,000 meter course in a time of 28:41.
Senior Jolene Sell (Menasha, Wis.) once again led the way
for the Phoenix women finishing in 40th place out of 180 runners.
Sell finished with a time of 22:59 followed by Freshman Areanna Lakowske
(Sparta, Wis.) in 24:05, Annie Bley (Egg Harbor, Wis.) in 24:39, Josey Bellin
(Fremont, Wis.) in 25:42 and Emily Farrell (Gillett, Wis.) rounded out the top
five with a time of 26:05.
As a team, the men finished in 15th place while
the women were 18th. The Phoenix will compete in the Horizon League
Championships in Detroit on Saturday, October 31.
