Lockhart runs a scorching 14:57 on Great Meadows

THE PLAINS, VA -- One can only imagine what kind of time Mr. Bobby Lockhart will post at the state meet next month on that same open field called Great Meadows after running a scorching 14:57 on the state course, except it was run backwards. While the challenging state course is faster when it is run backwards, his time is still very impressive. Even if it were a flat course, it would be an incredible time. The state course run backwards though is no walk in the park. You encounter you're fair share of hills and inclines to slow you down, but that didn't phase Lockhart one bit.

However, Lockhart's outstanding race was not enough for his team to get the team title as Woodbridge's #4 and #5 runners finished well ahead of Handley's #4 and #5. Woodbridge ended up tallying 70 points compared to Handley's 77.

C.D. Hylton's Jessica Hess was the top finishing girl with her time of 19:20 as Thomas Jefferson senior Kelley Otstott followed behind her at 19:28 for second place. Otstott led her squad to a team title as they finished with 62 points, which gave them some fair amount of space on second place Brooke Point with 78 points.
