GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Current
and former UW-Green Bay student-athletes and athletics department workers were
well represented for their efforts on campus when the UW-Green Bay Office of
Student Life announced the recipients of its annual Chancellor's Medallion and
University Leadership Awards. The ceremony will take place Friday at 6 p.m. in
the University Theatre with a reception to follow in the Phoenix Room.
Six Phoenix
student-athletes and one team manager earned Chancellor's Medallions, which are
issued to graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstanding campus and/or
community involvement, contributed significantly through leadership and maintained
high academic standards.
Athletics recipients
of the Chancellor's Medallion included: Laura Bartingale (women's tennis),
Josey Bellin (women's cross country), Gina Covert (women's swimming), Ilya Ksenidi (men's soccer), Rochelle Meulemans (volleyball), Jeff Sonntag (men's
soccer manager) and Amanda Stinson (women's soccer).
Meanwhile, nine
student-athletes and one manager claimed University Leadership Awards
recognizing undergraduate students who over the past academic year have contributed to the growth and
development of a university-registered student organization, and/or exhibited a
commitment to community service and volunteering, while remaining in good
academic standing.
Recipients
of the University Leadership Awards from the athletics department are: Yvonne Amport (volleyball manager), Gina Elmer
(women's skiing), Karli Koralewski (volleyball), Leah Korger (softball), Travis Mathers (men's swimming), David Prochazka (men's soccer), Kayla Tetschlag
(women's basketball), Allison Thut (women's swimming), Ryan Tillema (men's
basketball) and Morgan Weuve (women's tennis).
