Women's 4x400 Takes Sixth, Breaks School Record

NCAA Outdoor Championships Full ResultsThe Carolina women's 4x400 team capped off a successful showing at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as they took sixth and lowered their own school record from yesterday on the fourth and final day of the meet. The team of junior Elizabeth Mott, senior LaToya James and juniors Tasha Stanley and Zoey Russell earned All-America status for their finish.

Six Jayhawks Earn All-American Honors on Final Day of NCAA Outdoor Championships

On the final day of the 2011 NCAA Track and Field National Championships, six more Jayhawks became All-Americans here Saturday afternoon at Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University. In all, the Jayhawks had three men and seven women become first or second team All-Americans with the men earning 14 points to finish 18th overall and the women collecting 13 points to take 23rd.

Buttinger, Rae and Shawel Conclude NCAA Finals

Maddie Buttinger, Jeremy Rae and Johnathan Shawel of the University of Notre Dame men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition at the 2011 NCAA Championship. Rae claimed ninth place in the 1,500-meter finals in 3:45.53 to just miss an All-American nod.

4x400 Takes Fourth at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Iowa: June 11, 2011 - For the fourth time in as many years, the Nittany Lion women's 4x400-meter relay posted a top four effort at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, turning in a fourth-place standing, Saturday at Drake Stadium. The quartet of Doris Anyanwu (Beltsville, Md.), Shavon Greaves (Lakewood, N.J.), Ije Iheoma (Holland, Pa.), and Megan Duncan (North Huntingdon, Pa.) earned All-America status in the finish, thanks to a season-best run of 3:30.35. On the men's side, the Penn State contingent combined to score the highest finish in the team standings since 1993, tying for 20th-place overall with 11 points.

All Three Bearcats Leave NCAAs with All-America Honors

University of Cincinnati juniors Eric Finan (New Richmond, Ohio/New Richmond) and Terrence Somerville (Akron, Ohio/Butchel) earned All-America honors Saturday at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Drake University.

Kentucky Concludes NCAA Outdoor Championships

The University of Kentucky track and field team concluded the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with the men's team earning five points from senior Colin Beovers and the women's squad collecting two points from Jenna Martin, Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

4x100 Takes Seventh, Men and Women Top 25

Indiana finished action at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, getting a fourth-place finish out of Faith Sherrill in the women's shot put. IU also got an All-America finish in the 4x100m relay, taking seventh. IU finishes the meet with nine All-Americans and a total of nine top-10 finishes in events throughout the meet.

Knights Finish 17th in the Nation at NCAA Championships

Junior Jackie Coward earned the highest individual finish by a UCF track & field athlete at the NCAA Championships by placing third in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles Saturday afternoon at Drake Stadium. Coward's finish earned six points for the Knights, who finished tied for 17th place with 16 total team points this weekend.

Tomlin Finishes Fourth in 1,500 at NCAA Track & Field Championships

After a rain-plagued three days, the sun shined on Drake Stadium today as the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships came to an end in Des Moines, Iowa. All-American Renee Tomlin (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) finished fourth in the women's 1,500-meter run with Villanova's Sheila Reid, fellow BIG EAST competitor, took first and became the first athlete in history to win both the women's 5,000-meter run and the 1,500-meter run at the same championships.

Matthews Places 12th at NCAA Championship

Providence College junior Julian Matthews (Nelson, New Zealand) has placed 12th in the finals of the 1500-meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The effort earns the Friar distance star his second, Second-Team All-American Honor in Track and Field this year.

Traynor 11th In 3,000m Steeple Final At NCAA Championship

Redshirt junior Nicol Traynor placed 11th in Saturday's championship final of the 3,000m steeplechase as action at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship concluded Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

He ran in a very strong field and made a strong move down the stretch to pass several runners and move up into fourth place.

Champion Again: Reid Wins 1500 Meters Title on Saturday Afternoon

It was a different race on a different day but the same incredible kick in the last 100 meters which propelled senior Sheila Reid (Newmarket, Ont.) to a national championship in the 1500 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Drake Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Reid becomes the first women's athlete to ever win both the 1500 meters and the 5000 meters in the same year, as she adds to the 5000 meters crown she won last night.

OU Women Make History with Fourth Place Finish

The Oklahoma women made program history Saturday at the NCAA Track and Field Championships as they recorded their highest team finish ever by taking fourth with a program-best 42 team points. The team was bolstered by All-Americans Candyce McGrone (200-meter dash) and Tia Brooks (shot put). Oklahoma also added an All-American on the men's side in Mookie Salaam (200-meter dash).
