New Orleans, La. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country squad has earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic status for the 2011 season. The Eagles compiled a 3.26 grade point average. A total of 131 institutions representing 34 conferences earned the all-academic award.
UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout also earned the all-academic status representing the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
Seven of the top ten finishing teams at the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Championships earned All-Academic status. Of the 32 teams that participated in the national final, 21 of those earned All-Academic status.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better.
UW-L finished second at the 2011 WIAC Championships, fourth at the 2011 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Midwest Regional and 14th at the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships.
