Chicago, Ill. - Richter Studios, an award-winning creative services firm based in Chicago, announced today the official launch of “Stadium of Dreams”, a two-minute online commercial that has been created to promote the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse track & field team.

The commercial is part of an effort to generate awareness about the program and its role in hosting the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.  David and Jeremy Richter, who were football and track athletes for UW-L in the early 90's, are donating the entire effort to the track program.

“UW-La Crosse has the most successful track and field program in Division III history and it's an honor to donate this commercial to the University,” stated Richter Studios President Jeremy Richter.  “It was thrill of a lifetime to have competed under legendary coach Mark Guthrie and to be part of three of his national championship teams. Coach Guthrie elevated us onto the national stage and taught us how to excel under pressure.  As a proud alum, it's heartwarming to see that this tradition has not changed under Coach Buchholtz.”

The commercial was shot in October 2011 at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.  The same state-of-the-art camera technology enjoyed in Hollywood's top films was used to capture the athletes showcased in the spot.

Additionally, the commercial features advanced photorealistic compositing effects consisting of fire and smoke.  The process required to achieve these effects is typically reserved for major film productions.

"A big part of the success our men's track and field program has enjoyed comes from tradition," said UW-L track & field head coach Josh Buchholtz.  "A big part of our storied tradition has always been the support given by those who competed in the past, our alumni.

"Jeremy Richter and the Richter Studios have stepped up in a huge way to support track and field here at UW-L.  The video he and his crew produced for the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at UW-La Crosse is spectacular."

“The effort that went into this commercial is comparable to ones produced by some of the
biggest sports companies in the world," said Jeremy Richter.  "I hope they make a difference for the University and help attract more great recruits into the program.  And it goes without saying that both mine and David's families will be enthusiastic fans attending the 2013 outdoor championships in La Crosse.”

The commercial, as well as an intro video by Jeremy Richter describing the effort, can be seen at: http://www.uwleaglefilms.com.

Additionally, the football films that were released in August 2011 by Richter Studios can also be viewed at the site.  To date, the extended football commercial featuring former alums Mike Maslowski, Tom Newberry, Bill Schroeder and Rick Schaaf has surpassed 75,000 views on YouTube.

"From the first time I met Jeremy he indicated he wanted to do something to give back to the program that gave him so much and he did in a big way," said Buchholtz.  "I can't wait to see what he has in store for the future.  With the popularity of the UW-L football production, the track and field championships video we can't wait for the team shoot he is working on for our program.  I can't express enough how much his support means to our program."

David and Jeremy Richter were both defensive linemen on the 1989 football team that made it to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Championship.  David graduated in the spring of 1992 with an accounting degree. Jeremy received a degree in marketing and was a thrower on three national championship track & field teams, as well as a defensive tackle for the 1992 championship football team which defeated Washington and Jefferson of Pennsylvania by the score of 16-12. The two brothers have been in the commercial production business for the past 15 years and officially formed Richter Studios in 2003.

Richter Studios was nominated for its first Emmy Award in 2011.  Based in Chicago, the
creative services firm has worked with a wide range of celebrities, including Arnold Palmer, Ludacris, Bill Kurtis and Captain James Lovell (Apollo 8/13). The company specializes in broadcast commercials, brand films and corporate video productions. To date, the firm's in-house production crews have shot in 32 states and 12 countries and have championed over 500 motion picture efforts.
