UW-Stout Warren Bowlus Open Results

Menomonie, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team continued its indoor season at the Warren Bowlus Open at UW-Stout Saturday in Johnson Fieldhouse.  No team scores were recorded, but the Eagles captured the 4x400-meter relay (3:59.00) and had five individuals win events.

On the track, Claire Elliot captured the 200-meter dash (26.59); Rebecca Scheuermann the 400-meter dash (59.93); Kristin Lillie the 800-meter run (2:23.06) and Amanda Gresl the mile (5:23.04).  In the field events, Kayla Ashland won the high jump (5-2 1/4).

Other top finishes on the track included Rebecca Schmidt second (7.93) and Hannah Mueller third (8.01) in the 60-meter dash while Jenna Halvorson finished second (26.74) and Jamie Ludwigson third (26.91) in the 200-meter dash.  The Eagles' Megan Knutson was second in the mile (5:23.09) while Macy Olson finished third in the 800-meter run (2:24.71) and Hannah Utzman placed third in the 3,000-meter run (10:49.97).

UW-L's 4x200-meter relay finished third (1:49.43).

In the field events, Megan Marfilius was second (5-2 1/4) and Amy Jo Garinger third (5-2 1/4) in the high jump.  Christy Moses placed third in the pole vault (10-2) and Mueller was third in the long jump (16-0 1/2).

Nicole Flackey recorded a pair of top-three finishes, placing second in the shot put (39-4 1/2) and third in the weight throw (51-11 1/4).

UW-L returns to action Friday, February 3 at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Pentathlon starting at 3 p.m.
