La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the 2012 NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday-Saturday, March 9-10. Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa will serve as host of the championships. Events begin at 8:45 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday in the Charles Benson Bear '30 Recreation and Athletic Center.
Six women have qualified for the NCAA III Championships for the Eagles, including
Nicole Flackey in the weight throw and
Kayla Ashland in the high jump along with
Claire Elliott,
Jenna Halvorson,
Rebecca Scheuermann and
Caitlin Wippermann in the 4x400-meter relay.
Eleven men will compete for UW-L this weekend, including
Andy Grossman in the heptathlon. In the field events,
Isaac Vazquez (long jump, triple jump),
Jeremiah Burish (pole vault),
Troy Brooks (long jump),
John Cooper (weight throw) and
Andy Novak (shot put) will compete.
On the track,
Aric Hoeschen (400-Meter Dash) and
Alex Koenen (60-Meter Dash) will participate in the national championships. The Eagles' distance medley relay of Hoeschen,
Garrett Kerska,
Andrew Rohlman and
Sean Royer are also scheduled to compete.
