St. Mary's University (Minn.) Open Results
Des Moines, Iowa/Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team competed at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa and at the St. Mary's University Open in Winona, Minnesota Saturday. No team scores were recorded.
At the Drake Relays, UW-L's 4x400-meter relay of
Nick Tehan,
Terrence Thigpen,
Tyson Young and
Aric Hoeschen finished fourth in the college division (3:11.96).
The Eagles' distance medley relay of
Jerry Kerska,
Jamie Bottcher,
Eric Smits and
Garrett Kerska placed sixth overall (10:05.39) in the college division.
Individually, UW-L's
Grant Havard finished sixth in the discus throw (177-7) in the university/college division while
Isaac Vazquez placed 10th in the triple jump (48-4) in the university/college division.
At St. Mary's, five individuals and one relay claimed first-place finishes. On the track, UW-L's
Jacob Peterson won the 1,500-meter run (4:07.96),
Adam Nichols the 110-meter hurdles (15.19) and
Mitchell Reiser the 400-meter dash (49.82). The Eagles' 4x100-meter relay of
Joe DeRosier, Nichols,
Alex Jelich and
Andy Grossman also finished first (43.50).
In the field events,
Brett Davis took the long jump (21-5 1/4) and
Tony Bilderback the triple jump (45-3 1/2).
Other top finishes on the track included
Christian Wendland second (49.90) and
Eric Scholl third (50.38) in the 400-meter dash while
Travis Gallick was second (55.97) in the 400-meter hurdles and
Christopher Eberle second (22.86) in the 200-meter dash.
In the field events,
Daniel Petkau finished second (42-1 1/4) in the triple jump while Bilderback placed fourth (20-5) in the long jump.
Nick Stone was fifth (6-0 3/4) and Gallick sixth (5-10 3/4) in the high jump. The Eagles'
Jeffrey Hill,
Gary Trkula and
Bryan Klister tied for third (15-5 1/2) in the pole vault with
Jeremiah Burish sixth (15-5 1/2).
UW-L's
Alex Zart placed third (48-1 3/4),
Adam Poellinger fourth (47-10 1/2) and
John Cooper fifth (47-9 3/4) in the shot put. Cooper was also fourth (156-5) in the discus throw and sixth in the hammer throw (171-3).
Ross Von Glahn finished fourth (172-4) in the hammer throw.
UW-L returns to action Friday, May 4 at the WIAC Outdoor Championships at UW-Whitewater.
