Claremont, Calif. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team completed third and final day action at the 2012 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Outdoor Championships Saturday night at Burns Track Complex.  The Eagles finished second overall with 47.0 points.  McMurry University (Texas) won the national title with 66.0 points.  UW-Stout was third (38.0) while UW-Oshkosh finished fourth (35.0) and North Central College (Ill.) fifth (32.3).  A total of 84 teams scored points.

It marks the second straight year UW-L has placed second at the outdoor championships.  The Eagles have won 26 track & field titles in school history (15 indoor, 11 outdoor), more than any other Division III institution.  The 15 indoor and 11 outdoor championships are also the most in Division III history.

UW-L's Isaac Vazquez placed second in the triple jump (50-9 1/4) Saturday to earn his second All-America honor of the championships.  He captured the national title in the long jump (24-11 3/4) Thursday, becoming the first student-athlete in school history to win the crown.  It was his second career NCAA Division III outdoor title after capturing the triple jump in 2011.

Vazquez now has six career outdoor All-America awards.  Along with his two honors this year and national title in the triple jump last season, Vazquez was fifth in the long jump in 2011 and placed sixth in the triple jump and seventh in the long jump in 2010.

The Eagles' Tony Bilderback was 16th in the triple jump (47-1 1/2) Saturday afternoon.

Andy Novak finished second in the shot put (60-6 1/2) Saturday to earn his third career outdoor All-America accolade.  He was also second in the shot put at last year's NCAA III Championships and third in 2010.

Aric Hoeschen earned individual All-America honors with a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash (47.51) Saturday.  He was also on the seventh-place 4x400-meter relay (3:12.08) to earn All-America accolades.  Hoeschen was joined by Nick Tehan, Tyson Young and Christian Wendland.

Hoeschen now has six career outdoor awards.  He was sixth in the 400-meter dash in 2010 and seventh in 2011 while also being a member of the fourth-place 4x400-meter relay in 2010 and 2011.

Young picked up his third outdoor All-America honor with Saturday's 4x400-meter relay finish.  He was on the Eagles' fourth-place 4x400-meter relay the last two seasons.

Tehan and Wendland each earned their first career outdoor honor Saturday afternoon.

UW-L's Terrence Thigpen earned three All-America awards Saturday.  He placed seventh in the 200-meter dash (21.33) and eighth (10.61) in the 100-meter dash.

Thigpen was also a member of the Eagles' seventh-place 4x100-meter relay (41.43) Saturday with Jared Sitte, David Sikorski and Troy Brooks.

With his three awards Saturday, Thigpen now has five career outdoor All-America honors.  He was on UW-L's third-place 4x100-meter relay and fourth-place 4x400-meter relay in 2011.

Sitte and Brooks picked up their second career outdoor All-America honor Saturday.  Both were members of the Eagles' third-place 4x100-meter relay at last year's championships.

Jeremiah Burish and Rob Rohe each earned All-America honors in the pole vault Saturday.  Burish placed fifth overall (16-4 3/4) while Rohe was seventh (16-2 3/4).  It is the first career outdoor All-America accolade for both.
