UW-L Places Eighth at Neubauer Invite

West Salem, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's cross country squad finished eighth in the annual Tori Neubauer Invitational Saturday morning at the Maple Grove Country Club. The Eagles totaled 216 team points.  A total of 28 teams competed and 433 runners completed the course.  NCAA Division I the University of Minnesota won the team title Saturday with 82 points.

Wartburg College (Iowa) was runner up with 99 points.  Iowa Central Community College was third (101 pts.) followed by St. Olaf College, Minn. (115) and Luther College, Iowa (132) to round-out the top-five.  

Wartburg College entered the meet ranked 11th in NCAA Division III while St. Olaf was 12th. 

Natalie Powell was UW-L's top finisher Saturday, finishing the 6,000-meter course in 23:02.4 and placing 28th overall.  Corissa Conard placed 31st (23:05.6) for the Eagles. 

Abby Gustafson was 52nd (23:31.1); Laura Mead 55th (23:34.7) and Rachel Schroeder 57th (23:35.2).  Rebecca Zych was 64th (23:38.9) for UW-L and Megan Stats-Wagner finished 77th (23:50.8). 

Alana Enabnit of Wartburg won the individual title in a time of 21:41.5.

UW-L returns to action Friday, October 19 at the Luther College (Iowa) Dual.
