Midwest Top 12 Individual Rankings: Nicolls, Flood Lead the Way Scott Bush Aug 25, 2008

2007 showed a distinct disparity between the strength of the Midwest boys and girls at Foot Locker Nationals. While the Midwest boys dominated the team competition at Foot Locker Nationals, the girls finished in fourth. This year the boys look strong, led by the Colorado contingent of Evan Appel, Joseph Manilafasha and Bobby Nicolls (pictured left to right above by John Herzog), while the girls look to rebound and show they can compete with anyone.

 Claire Durkin (OH) won the FL Midwest girls race by 41 secondsPack running will be the key to success if the Midwest hopes to win the team races Saturday at Foot Locker Nationals.  At the Midwest Regional packs reigned supreme in both races if you look at the results.  The boys have a dominant top four with a lot of experience after them to fill the rest of the scoring gaps, while the girls have a mix of newcomers and experience that should make their team very strong.

Ohio's Claire Durkin wins Foot Locker Midwest in record timeFreezing temperatures and a windy morning couldn't slow down the competition at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional Saturday in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  The best of the best in the region faced off with some amazing performances taking place.  Claire Durkin (Sr., Worthington, OH) won the girls race in course record time, beating the field by over 40 seconds.  Mike Fout (Sr., La Porte, IN) held off the pack to win the boys race.  Read the MileSplit account of what took place.
