Justin Wachtel has been on the Georgia scene since 7th grade. He's been crushing middle school races for the past two years, including two runner-up finishes one in the 1600m and the other in the 3200m at last year's Georgia middle school track and field state championships. This year he has already taken wins at the Midstate Cross Classic, the Stratford XC Invitational, the Bulldog Distance Classic, and the Greyhound Invitational/Release the Hounds. All of those wins were in varsity races with times between 17:26.45 and 16:02.81 for 5K.
