Weekend Meet Recap: Fast Times In Week Four


Both temperatures and times dropped during the fourth weekend of competition! Find all the highlights from this weekend's coverage and more below!


Vikings Invitational


Weekend competition got off to a start Thursday afternoon with the Vikings Invitational in Holmen, WI. Senior Andrew Skemp of Aquinas took the individual win in 16:09.90. Aquinas also had the boys' team win, with runners Alec Taylor (16:57) and Mitch Ellis (17:05) finishing in the fourth and fifth positions.

On the girls' side, Onalaska took the team win with runners sweeping the first four places of the race. Sisters Kora, Lydia, and Amalia Malecek took the first three places, finishing in 17:28, 18:53, and 19:22 respectively. Ellie Smith (4th, 19:49) and Carolyn Kearns (7th, 20:18) rounded out the scoring five for the team.

Owl Quad @ Slinger

On the other side of the state, Slinger, Hartford, Germantown, and West Bend East faced off at the Owl Quad. Cael Grotenhuis had the fastest time of the night in 16:45.30, leading Slinger to a boys team win. In second was Cael Schoemann of Hartford Union High School (17:13.60). Slinger also took the team win for the girls, finishing 44 points ahead of second place, Germantown. Slinger was lead by a 1-2 finish of Mya Bunke (19:23) and Summer Schuster (19:49).

BCHS-SW-WBW Triangular


Moving into Friday evening, Nathan Cumberbatch of Shorewood lead the boys' race from the start and came away with the individual win in 16:40. He was followed by Sam Schreiber and Ben Bast of West Bend West. Shorewood had runners finishing in the fourth through eighth positions, giving them the team win.

West Bend West took the team win for the girls with their top runner, senior Katie Phillips, coming in third with a time of 21:47. Shorewood's Addie Kemp finished in 20:27 for the individual win.

Marquette CC Invite


On Saturday, runners took to the course for a morning of classic fall XC racing in Wisconsin. The girls varsity race lead off the day of competition, with DSHA taking both the team and individual wins. DSHA's Sophie Scopp won with a time of 20:20.10. Rachel Krouse came in second for Wauwatosa West with a 20:44.77.

Greendale came away with a team victory for the boys, with three runners finishing in the top 5 places. Junior Ben Deguire of Marquette High School had the individual win in 17:00.90.
