2018 Outdoor Preview

5. Ryan Riddle (Webb City)

The Webb City Senior is coming of a State Championship in the 3200m last year and Runner Up finishes in the 1600m and XC. He ran an 8:34 3K at the beginning of the indoor season, so he's definitely coming into outdoor with a full head of steam. He'll have an outside shot at the State Meet record of 8:54, and an even better chance of breaking Matt Tegenkamp's Class 4 Record of 8:57.23. Riddle is a very aggressive runner, and I really think he has a shot at those milestones before heading of to Tulsa in the fall.

4. Hasani Barr (Cardinal Ritter)

The Cardinal Ritter Junior comes into the year off of All-State finishes in both the 200m and 400m. His 400m PR of 47.41 is the 9th fastest time in state history, and he could possibly jump into the top 5 this season. He's also very formidable in the 200m with a PR of 21.51 which is 26th all-time. He will be a heavy favorite this year to win both races in Class 3, and I'm interested to see that 400m time fall.

3. Alicia Burnett (Parkway North)

Another super freshman last year, Burnett secured State Championships in the 100m, 200m, and 400m in Class 4. Her 100m PR of 11.47 is the second fastest time in state history, and will no doubt be gunning for Muna Lee's State record of 11.39. What I'm more excited for though is her 400m potential. With 11.47 100m speed, there's no reason she can't break the state record in the 400m. I'm intrigued to see if she's able to shatter these records this year.
