(Runners compete at the Division 3 - Sectional 4 Finals - Darlington, where Elizabeth Husker placed seventh.)
Elizabeth Husker of Riverdale had the most significant drop in 5K race time from 2019 to 2020. In 2019, she closed the cross country season with a season best time of 21:52.40. Throughout the 2020 season, Husker came back and dropped time steadily, starting with times in the upper 22's and eventually breaking into the low 19's by the end of the year. She ran a season best time of 19:19.22 for a fourth place finish at the D3 sub-sectional meet in Boscobel. The Riverdale senior narrowly missed a trip to the state meet, finishing seventh at sectionals - just .2 seconds behind the fifth qualifying individual.
2020 nonetheless marked an impressive season for Husker, who showed substantial improvement both year over year and throughout her season.
