Individuals to Watch:

In the individual competition, history could repeat itself with another close race between defending 2022 champ Faith Wehrman and runner-up Nora Gremban. In 2022, the pair went stride-for-stride through the mile before Wehrman pulled away, forming a 10-second gap for the victory.

Also at the top of the D2 competition is Mount Horeb's Abigail Sadler. Sadler has had an undefeated senior run into the state meet, including a notable Midwest Invite victory, and looks to improve upon her sixth-place finish at last year's championships meet.

Bloomer's Ciara Hartman and Xavier's Lilie Fouts will lead top-ranked state programs in the team competition. Hartman and Fouts hold personal bests of 17:25 and 18:13, respectively. Hartman, a freshman, will make her first trip to Wisconsin Rapids, while Fouts returns from a seventh-place finish at last year's meet.
