Back in 2021, Wisconsin native Lauren Pansegrau, who now competes for the University of Michigan, qualified for (what was formerly known as) Eastbay Championships with her tenth place finish.
It's going to be a big weekend here in Wisconsin tomorrow, as one of the most hyped meets will be hosted on state grounds over at the iconic Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, which also serves as the home course for University of Wisconsin - Parkside.
As time has shown again and again, Wisconsin has had some serious talent when it comes to distance running, and the past few years have not said otherwise.
Back in 2021, at the time, Middleton's Lauren Pansegrau, who now represents the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, punched her ticket to San Diego with a 10th place finish at, what was called at the time, Eastbay Midwest Region Cross Country Championships. She pulled this off against a very respectable field which consisted of other big names including Rachel Forsyth, Arianne Olson, Riley Stewart, Sophia Kennedy, and Riley Stewart.
She concluded her high school cross country career at Eastbay Championships with a 21st place finish, adding her name to the list of Wisconsin natives from throughout the years that paved their way to compete on the other side of the country against some of the best around.
