Putz Takes 5th at NXN, Babcock Places Top-20 at RunningLane

After finishing runner-up at NXR Heartland, Manny Putz closed his junior season with a fifth-place finish on the national stage at NXN. Despite a slip-up in the early meters of the race, Putz worked his way up, closing just short of the top finishing positions. Battling muddy conditions, he crossed the line in 15:23, behind seniors Austin Westfall (4th, 15:22), Nathan Neil (3rd, 15:18), Cameron Todd (2nd, 15:18), and 2023 NXN champion JoJo Jourdon (15:16).

In the team competition, Stevens Point took 16th, led by a 15:26 effort from Aloysius Franzen, who placed 22nd individually.

On the girls' side, University of Wisconsin commit Nora Gremban completed her senior cross country season with an 80th-place finish in 19:01.

Girls Championship Race

In the girls' competition, Mackenzie Babcock placed 17th with an 18:13 finish in the Gold Race at the 2023 RunningLane Cross Country Championships. The race marked the close of a successful junior season for the Monona Grove runner - one that included a third-place division one state finish and top-20 regional performances at the Foot Locker Midwest and NXR Heartland Championships.
