Anisa Barnett Approaches the 40 Foot TJ Mark in 2024

---

In the world of track and field, few accomplishments are as impressive as breaking into the record books. For Homestead junior Anisa Barnett, the Lancer Invite on April 26th was a defining moment. With a breathtaking jump of 39 feet 7.25 inches, Barnett secured her place in the record books in Wisconsin.

With her jump of 39' 7.25", Barnett PR'd by 9 inches over her best outdoor mark and 8 inches over her best indoor mark, breaking that 39 foot barrier in the process. By breaking that barrier, Barnett shot all the way up from 16th all-time with her mark of 38' 10.25" to 10th all-time with her new PR.

Already the reigning Wisconsin D1 State Champion for the triple jump, Barnett has molded herself as the person to beat in Wisconsin as she currently ranks #1 girl in Wisconsin by almost almost half a foot, is the reigning state champion and for good measure won the indoor state triple jump title this spring.

The next goal for Barnett? Break that 40 foot barrier and break into that top 7 all-time marks.
