Gilman Track Meet
Gilman High School Track Facility
Thursday April 11th, 2024
Teams:
Abbotsford, Cadott, Cameron, Columbus Catholic, Gilman, Granton, McDonell Central, Neillsville, Owen-Withee, Stanley-Boyd, Thorp
Start time for the meet is 4:15 for field events and 5:00 for running events. We will have a scratch meeting at 4:00 in the West bleachers.
Online Registration for the meet is through www.milesplit.com.
The deadline for entries is 11:59 PM Tuesday, April 9th.
After this time only scratches will be allowed - NO SUBSTITUTIONS.
We will be allowing unlimited entries but no more than 3 individuals from a single school can score in any given event and only 1 relay team per school will be scored. Just so everyone's aware, since we are allowing unlimited entries and we have 11 teams, the following may be needed to complete the meet prior to the next day.
*If there are significant numbers in any given field event:
the number of trials may be reduced to 3 and/or starting heights may be adjusted accordingly. Please try to keep your field event entries as close to 3 competitors, if possible.
Scoring for this meet will be: 10-8-6-4-3-2-1 for individual
10-8-6-4-3-2-1 for relays
Please bring a copy of your week 40 pole vault verification form to the meet.
Order of Field Events:
Triple Jump Boys then Girls
Long Jump Girls then Boys
Discus Boys then Girls
Shot Put Girls then Boys
High Jump Girls then Boys
Pole Vault Boys then Girls (run together???)
We will go with 4 throws and jumps, no finals.
Track facility: 9 lane rubber. 1/4" pyramid spikes are allowed in all running and jumps events.
Team Camps: Grass alcove on the hill just west of the track facility by the school. If more room is needed, they can be set up just south of the track outside the fence.
Clerk of Course/Bullpen: Located at the northwest end of the track. Please remind each competitor to check in by the second call.
Restricted Areas: Please tell your athletes to stay off the infield, out of the playground, and nobody should be under the bleachers. The jumps area will be restricted to those athletes competing in the LJ, TJ, HJ & PV at the time their event is taking place. Coaches will be
allowed into the coaching box areas. The backstretch of the track can be used for warm-ups when it won't interfere with running events taking place at that time.
Concessions: Located on the backside of the main bleachers (west side of the track).
Bathrooms: Southeast alcove entry of the school and 3 port-a-potties around the track facility.
Bus Parking: North side of the school, south of the track on the practice field if dry enough or in the south student parking lot.
