Throwback Thursday: Finn Gessner goes 14:39 at NXR Heartland

What a season it has been for all of us here in Wisconsin with the conclusion of the WIAA XC State Championships last weekend, but it isn't over quite yet.

While many have decided to call it wraps after last weekend, there are still some that have decided to continue on into the wintertime with post-season competitions with hopes of earning their ticket to any of the various national championships that take place closer to the end of this calendar year.

With that, we will slowly be digging up some classics from recent times or way back, starting with this one from 2016 with the 2017 graduate from Madison La Follette, Finn Gessner after he ran 14:39 to win Nike Cross Nationals Heartland Regional, which currently stands as the fastest time ever ran by a Wisconsin native for cross country (in high school).
