MileSplit50: #46 Charlize-Trinity McKenzie

There was only one Wisconsin girl athlete in the most recent update of the MileSplit50 National Rankings on February 16th and to no one's surprise, it was standout Cedarburg sophomore Charlize-Trinity McKenzie who is having a fantastic indoor season. 

McKenzie most recently raced at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational where she placed 11th overall in the 1,000m with a new PR of 2:48.38.

McKenzie was the only high schooler in a field that included collegiate and professional athletes. The race was won by current Under Armour professional athlete Sabrina Southerland who was a former NCAA Champion for Oregon. 

With her time of 2:48.38, McKenzie ran the #3 time nationally this indoor season for all high school girls and she owns the #1 time for her class this season.

All-time for sophomore girls, McKenzie currently ranks #4 all-time for the 1000m, only behind the high school national record holder in the 800mm in Juliette Whittaker, former NCAA Champion Sammy Watson, and the former phenom and USA Champion Mary Cain.

McKenzie at this stage of her career is among some rarified companies as a standout sophomore track and field athlete. She currently ranks as the #1 runner for her class this season in the 600m and 1000m. She also ranks #3 in the 800m, #4 in the 1500m, and #14 in the 3000m.
