Race Preview

Girls 800 Meter Run

Charlize Trinity-McKenzie | Cedarburg - Charlize Trinity-McKenzie is Wisconsin's 2023 Indoor State 800M champ in 2:16.09. The freshman ran an indoor personal best of 2:11.05 at Twilight Indoor NYC and will make her outdoor 800M debut tonight.

Delaney Nyenhuis | Oregon - Nyenhuis placed 12th at Indoor State with a personal best 800M time of 2:25.75.

Annie Robinson | Dodgeville/Mineral Point - Coming off of a 2:25.29 800M at Distance Night in Palatine, the 10th place indoor state finisher will be back for another 800M race at Hale Distance Night this weekend. Robinson's current outdoor 800M PR of 2:21.14 still stands from last year's Distance Night.

Lily Knaack | Wauwatosa East - Knaack closed her 2022 track season with a 2:21.26 personal best performance at sectionals. The time earned her a trip to state, where she placed 18th.

Girls 1600 Meter Run

Nora Gremban | Northland Pines - Gremban is the defending 2022 D2 800M state champ in 2:12.40. Off the track, the Northland Pines junior ran an undefeated XC season leading into a runner-up finish at the state meet.

Eva Koos | Mukwonago - Koos' current 1600M PR sits just above the five-minute mark at 5:01.54. Koos is 2023's indoor 800M state runner-up and placed 15th in the 1600M at last year's outdoor state championships.

Sara Mlodik | D. C. Everest - The 2022 D1 State XC Champ will take the track at Hale Distance Night for a race at the 1600M distance. Mlodik placed sixth at last year's state track championships in a personal best time of 5:01.87.

Sophia Bablitch | Rosholt - Bablitch is 2022's D3 1600M state runner-up with an outdoor PR standing at 5:04.90. Most recently, she placed fourth at the indoor state track championships. 

Girls 3200 Meter Run

Zaira Malloy-Salgado | Middleton - The defending 3200M D1 state champ (10:32.25) will bring her talent to Hale Distance Night following a successful senior cross country, during which she placed fifth at the state meet. Hale Distance Night will mark her 3200M debut this outdoor season; Malloy-Zalgado returns from a third-place finish at last year's competition.

Summer Schuster | Slinger - In 2022, Schuster ran a 3200M PR for a third-place D1 state championship finish and finished runner-up at the 2022 state XC championships. Schuster is a Distance Night returner, placing second in last year's 3200M competition.

Lily Kriegel | Whitefish Bay - Hale Distance Night will be Kriegel's first 3200M race of the 2023 season. Her current PR of 10:57.16 comes from an eighth-place finish at the 2022 D1 state championships. Earlier this season, Kriegel placed seventh in the 1600m at Indoor State.

Ella Anschutz | Muskego - The Muskego freshman placed sixth at the D1 state XC championships; this will be her first race at the 3200M distance this year.

Boys 800 Meter Run

JJ Williams | Glenwood City - Williams is 2023's WI Indoor State 800M champ and had a runner-up finish at the 2022 outdoor state championships. His current PR stands at 1:55.27.

Harper Fahey | Middleton - A Hale Distance Night returner, Fahey holds an indoor 800M personal best of 1:58.57 and placed seventh at the 2023 Indoor State Track & Field Championships.

Jayden Sayles | Oconomowoc - Ahead of the outdoor season, Sayles placed eighth at Indoor State, setting a new indoor 800M PR of 2:01.32.

Owen Bosley | Homestead - Coming off of a mile victory and personal best at Distance Night in Palatine, Bosley will compete in the 800M at Hale Distance Night. A returner to Hale Distance Night, he placed sixth in the 3200M at last year's competition.

Boys 1600 Meter Run

Will Chelberg | Shawano - Chelberg's current 1600M personal best stands at 4:24.55. Notably, the Shawano Community junior placed sixth at the 2022 D2 state XC championships.

Spencer Alf | McFarland - Alf placed 9th at the 2023 Indoor State Track & Field Championships in 4:26.25

Adam Weyer | Hartford  - After placing fourth at the 2023 Indoor State Track & Field Championships in 4:23.85, Weyer will return to compete in the Hale Distance Night 1600M. The Hartford senior placed ninth in last year's Distance Night competition.

Matthew Clauer | Mukwonago - Clauer placed 16th in the 1600M at indoor state; his current PR stands at 4:40.63.

Boys 3200 Meter Run

Bode Erickson | Stevens Point - The defending Hale Distance Night 3200M champ's PR of 9:12.87 still stands from last year. Erickson returns to the track from a fourth-place D1 state XC finish. 

Aloysius Franzen | Stevens Point - Franzen comes into this year's Hale Distance Night with a fresh 1600M PR from Distance Night in Palatine and a third-place D1 state XC finish. Earlier this season, he ran an indoor 3200M PR of 9:22.00.

Hayden Triebold | Oconomowoc - Last season, the Oconomowoc senior ran to a seventh-place D1 state finish in a personal best time of 9:12.62. Triebold is a returner to Hale Distance Night, placing seventh in last year's 3200M competition.

Zach Vance | Oconomowoc - After winning the 1600M at last year's Hale Distance Night, Vance will return to compete in the 3200M this year. Vance's current PR stands at 9:28.87. Vance was the 2022 state XC runner-up.
